WHY YOU SHOULDN’T MISS OUT:
If you caught them opening for bands like The Kaiser Chiefs, Grouplove, Fitz and the Tantrums or Young the Giant, like me, you must have been immediately hooked. It only took me the next couple of hours after their show to listen to songs off of their independently released album, “I want! I want!” Walk the Moon is now heading on their official headlining Naked Feet Tour, and are playing tomorrow night at the Echo with Morning Parade!
With airplay on KROQ, as well as landing huge festival gigs like Lollapaloooza and Sasquatch!, this art-rock, indie pop quartet keeps soaring to new heights, the face paint becoming ever more present. Walk the Moon has gone from playing small shows in their hometown of Cincinnati to playing overseas in London. Add an appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, two sold out shows in Los Angeles, the Governor’s Ball in NY and a fall tour in Europe. They have a number one hit on Sirius Alt Nation and have been featured in magazines like Esquire, NYLON, Seventeen and Rollingstone.com. NYLON said it perfectly: “[Walk the Moon’s] swirly pop beats, infectious guitar riffs, and loud, sing-a-long choruses, [are] pure unadulterated fun. Their first single, “Anna Sun,” has the same high energy sound of groups like The Killers and OK Go - needless to say, it’s one of those songs that you just have to pass along to all your friends.”
These are the songs that you only have to listen to once to immediately become obsessed, blasting them repeatedly in your car or your room. If the infectious tunes off of their EP “Anna Sun” on iTunes don’t catch your attention, then their energetic, hip-shaking live shows surely will.
Walk the Moon are fun, energetic, carefree, just like their music, and their live shows prove that they are the next hit band to take over the music scene. You can also now pre-order their album on Walmart.com! Their official debut album drops June 19.
